Wounded Soldiers
CNV Sovereign 15 A.E.
First day at sea, the sky was clear and the water was calm. James White could almost feel like nothing had ever happened. They had never lost radio contact with the COG, the pirate gangs had never come to Vectes, the Gears had not been forced to come later and the Island had never been overrun by explosive glowing creatures.
It was a dream of course, but one that the soft sea breeze in James’ face made unnaturally easy to believe.
“Hey kid! Bring your head back from the clouds and pay attention!” A voice said next to him.
Suddenly James was back in his reality. He was on board of Sovereign, the giant ship that brought the COG to Vectes about a year ago. Now they were on the move again, only this time James was with them.
“What is it?” James asked.
“Nothing really, just the Sergeant coming right this way.” It was Kirk Emmet, one of the Gears that had witnessed the war since the days it was fought exclusively between

Lost Home
The sun descended slowly over the hill side. A rabbit walked timid out of its den, unaware of being watched trough the scope of a rifle.
“Firm and steady” Yefrem said in his deep voice and heavy Indie accent.
Spiro pulled the trigger and the rabbit dropped where it stood.
“Fuck yeah” Spiro said.
“Good shot Grooshlein, there will be meat in tomorrow’s dinner” Yefrem, born in Pelles, always called Spiro, a former citizen of the Coalition, Grooshlein. According Yefrem’s daughter, Yana, it meant little cog in their native language.
“You are getting better at this” She added, with a voice as strong as her father’s yet her accent was far nicer to hear “Maybe one day I’ll lend you my own Markza”
“Is that so?” Asked Spiro, cautious.
“So you can clean it, that’s it” She answered, witty as always.
“If I cleaned it you’d never recognize it”
“Keep dreamin

Tres
Tres

The Balloon
Dry and hot. Everything around was dry and hot.
The sand was thick and it jabbed his bare feet, yet it was more desirable than having them confined inside the shoes, which is why he had dropped them some time ago.
The wind that so many times had brought some relief to the heat, now would only steal his precious hydration and leave sand grains in its place.
Above everything, literally, were the suns. Three bloody suns crossing the sky describing a mad circle that added to the feeling of being roasted slowly and thoroughly.
A while ago he had taken his shirt off and held it above is head to protect at least his face and neck from the harsh sunlight but it was futile, all of his skin was sore and burnt, all he got was the appearance of a spectre. One that wandered the desert adrift, hopeless.
For how long had he walked? And even more relevant, were to? There was no way to know, the identical suns would just turn around endlessly, as if they mocked anyone trying to use them to navigate. He

El Globo
Seco y caliente.

Welcome
The sun was shining high in the sky, threes breathed life and animals chanted a symphony of peace. Everything in the forest was beauty, but the most radiant were the twin fairies Kasumi and Mayumi, Kas and May for each other.
They were both flying with their splendid butterfly wings. Kas’ were the colour of the winter fruit, which despite blooming alone in the cold, is the sweetest of the year. May on the other hand displayed wings the colour of the love flower, the one adults give to each other when they want to spend life together.
-It’s so pretty –said May beholding the scene.
-It’s beautiful –answered Kas
-Let’s explore! –proposed May, who was usually the first to do everything ever since she came to the world before her sister.
They fluttered among the flowers, where the industrious bees guided them to the best scented. They smelled dozens different kinds, each more fragrant than the previous one until they came to a colossal pale pink bud

Bienvenidas

-¡Madre! –Gritó, pero antes de que sus pie

Dark Sky
It was a pretty day, the birds were singing and the sun was shining all over his mother’s favourite park. And there she was, sitting on a bench smiling and waving her hand at him.
-Let’s go brother, mother is waiting. –He said to Alonzo, who was standing next to him. But there was something wrong.
His brother was not the most expressive guy in town, but this time his face was not just still. Despite the quietness in the ambient he could almost hear him shout sadness and despair.
Before he could react to his brother’s strangely expressive frown, the silence was broken by a heavy vibration proceeding from the ground itself. As he turned to inspect the terrain around him, he noticed several cracks forming on it, narrow yet relentless and quickly converging at the bench in front of him that now seemed much farther than a moment before.
-Mother! –He screamed, but before his legs started moving, the ground below her collapsed, engulfing her instantly and rising

Races
Today would be a special day for Bo, he knew since the moment, a week ago, when dad came home with the most wonderful news in the world; he had tickets for today’s race. He could finally see a race, but not on a screen as he did almost daily. No sir, this time there would be nothing between him and those extraordinary speed machines. Such was his excitement for the event that he was barely able to sleep the night before. Had he known that was his last peaceful night, maybe he would have made more of it.
It was usual for Bo to experience things he didn't quite understand, but the strangest thing to date was the most terribly long week of his six and a half years of life followed by a couple hours that seemed to run through his fingers like water. It was like time had accelerated along with the drivers on the go signal.
After what seemed like a sigh, Bo was leaving the wondrous place where racing happened on dad’s shoulders. The show he just witnessed made him intensely happy

Carreras
